• Favourite players — the list of players you mark as favourites, stored in your account profile.
• Chat messages — messages you send in live chat rooms associated with court streams.

When you visit and use the Platform, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

• IP address — used for security purposes, rate limiting, and approximate geographic location (country/region level only).
• Browser type and version — e.g. Chrome 120, Safari 17, Firefox 121.

• SMS / OTP providers — we use third-party SMS services (Prelude, iSMS) to deliver OTP codes to your phone number during login. Your phone number is shared with these providers solely for the purpose of delivering the verification code.
• Hosting providers — the Platform is hosted on cloud infrastructure. Your data is stored on servers managed by our hosting provider. All data is stored on servers located in Asia.
• Content delivery networks (CDNs) — we may use CDNs to deliver static assets (images, scripts) faster. CDNs may log IP addresses and request metadata as part of standard operations.

We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of BadmintonLive, our users, or the public.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to provide essential functionality on the Platform. Here is what we store and why:

We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking technologies. You can disable cookies and clear local storage in your browser settings at any time, but please note that doing so will log you out and may affect certain features.

5. Data Retention

• Account data (phone number, display name, favourites) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
• Chat messages are retained for the duration of the live stream session and may be deleted after the stream ends.
• Server logs (IP addresses, request metadata) are retained for a maximum of 90 days and then automatically purged.
• Usage analytics are aggregated and anonymised. No personally identifiable information is retained in analytics data beyond 90 days.

We take the security of your data seriously and implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it, including:

• All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS).
• Passwords are never stored — authentication is handled via OTP only.
• Database access is restricted and protected by firewalls.
• Server access is limited to authorised personnel only.

• Rate limiting is enforced on authentication and API endpoints to prevent brute-force attacks.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. BadmintonLive is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible.
